Meet Yastheel Phalad

Yastheel Phalad is a spiritual guide, yoga teacher, and strategist who bridges inner transformation with real-world clarity and impact.

Born and raised in South Africa, his work sits at the intersection of psychology, meditation, spirituality, business, and human behaviour. Drawing from diverse disciplines, he helps people cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and authentic expression in both life and work.

Yastheel studied Finance and Economics at the University of Cape Town, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Science degree. He later pursued further studies in Psychology and Data Analytics, developing a multidisciplinary understanding of human behaviour, decision-making, and performance.

Yet despite these achievements, he found himself facing a profound existential crisis that challenged conventional ideas of success, identity, and fulfilment. What began as a period of inner struggle became the catalyst for a deeper exploration of consciousness, healing, spirituality, and the nature of lasting transformation.

In 2016, during his first meditation course, Yastheel experienced a deeply transformative meditative state that shifted the trajectory of his life. This awakening eventually led him to his spiritual mentor, Mohanji, under whose guidance he began walking the path of Raja Yoga. A path centered on awareness, self-acceptance, and inner transformation. He learned that true transformation is not about fixing oneself, but about courageously accepting all aspects of who we are.

When asked a simple question by Mohanji: “What do you want?” Yastheel’s answer was immediate

“Please help me make the world a better place.” That intention has guided every step since.

Although he entered the corporate world after university, by the age of 23 he felt a clear inner calling toward a different path. In 2018, he left his finance career and travelled to India to study at the Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga, where he trained in ancient yogic disciplines and became a certified yoga instructor. Since then, he has spent thousands of hours immersed in meditation, breathwork, contemplative practices, self-inquiry, and service.

During this period, Yastheel was trained as an Acharya, a teacher that guides others on the spiritual path. More than a title, this marked a shift from personal inquiry to service. Through working with thousands of individuals across workshops, retreats, humanitarian initiatives, and transformational programs, he observed a consistent truth: our outer lives reflect our inner state.

When inner healing occurs, transformation naturally unfolds in every area—health, relationships, purpose, and work. At the heart of Yastheel’s teaching is forgiveness, radical self-acceptance, and integration – rooted in unconditional love and compassion. He emphasizes that acceptance is not weakness, it is power. His guiding insight is simple yet profound:

“Mind minus ego reveals the Divine.”

Alongside his work in spirituality and personal transformation, Yastheel has continued to deepen his understanding of psychology, business, media, analytics, and human behaviour. This multidisciplinary foundation allows him to bridge inner growth with practical, real-world application.

His work is particularly focused on helping individuals who may appear successful externally yet feel disconnected internally—guiding them toward greater clarity, purpose, emotional resilience, and authentic self-expression.

Yastheel currently serves as Vice President of Mohanji Foundation South Africa, contributing to leadership, outreach, humanitarian initiatives, media, and conscious community development. He has also served as Director of ACT Foundation South Africa and has participated in service projects across multiple countries.

As a Senior Certified Yoga Instructor (E-RYT 200), he facilitates workshops, retreats, meditation programs, and transformational processes that integrate spiritual wisdom with psychological insight and practical strategy.

He is also the founder of Yaspired, a media platform dedicated to sharing ideas, conversations, and content that inspire greater awareness, growth, and conscious living. At the heart of his work is one central message:

Clarity and authentic expression are not reserved for those who have everything figured out. They are available to anyone willing to turn inward, accept themselves fully, and walk the path of awareness.
